Happy new year! I hope 2016 is treating you well so far?
I’m not really one for making big resolutions as I find them a bit overwhelming, instead I prefer to try to attempt smaller goals which are easier to get my head round.
After the excesses of Christmas I’m starting the year looking at my diet, and by way of kickstarting this I am taking part in Veganuary, which means no meat, fish, or poultry and by-products such as milk, eggs and honey for the month of January.
Many of you will read this and think “That’s not a small goal!” but as a seasoned vegetarian for about 25 years the meat situation won’t be an obstacle at all. However, the lack of my beloved cheese and chocolate will no doubt cause me some issues! As will eating out, as there aren’t many cafes and restaurants that currently have vegan options. BUT, I do enjoy a challenge, and on a more serious note I’m interested in finding out a bit more about where our food comes from in order to make informed choices in future.
If you’re interested in Veganuary you can find out more here.
Have you made any resolutions for 2016? If you’re looking to make small and super-simple changes this year, have a read of a blog I wrote last October on Ten ways to make a difference without really trying.
Here’s to making a difference personally and to others in 2016!
