Barnsley’s ‘Crafty Business Networking’ group have been chosen to collaborate with online marketplace Etsy and will be holding an ‘Etsy Made Local’ Market in Barnsley this Christmas.
Online marketplace Etsy focusses on handmade or vintage items and supplies, and has around 54 million members worldwide. Every year they hold events to celebrate makers, collectors and artisans across the UK.
Founder of Crafty Business Barnsley, Steph Cronin says “we are always looking for different ways to support and develop our craft community, and are currently organising our own craft fairs, so when we heard about the opportunity to work with Etsy we jumped at the chance to put Barnsley crafters on the map!”
Crafty Business is a multi-crafting group for entrepreneurs who benefit from networking and meeting new people. They meet once a month to share ideas, problems and discuss solutions on both crafting and business.
The group has grown so large that Steph has started to work in partnership with local ceramicist and craft fayre expert Tracey Mawson to continue to support craft businesses better.
Tracey said “I’m thrilled to be an official member of the Crafty Business team and bring a slice of Etsy to our town. I hope that everyone will come and support Barnsley businesses by buying local this Christmas.”
The Etsy Made Local Market will be held on 3rd December at the Digital Media Centre, County Way, Barnsley. There will be craft stalls, live music, refreshments and creative activities and games to get everyone in the festive spirit.
